SugarHouse
A unique blend of cool grooves, clever lyrics, smoking guitar & strong vocals
Mix together some Louisiana/Texas gulf coast blues swamp funk rock kinda stuff with some rockin roadhouse dancing elements, stir in some contemporary grooves to complement the traditional, and you are close to defining the sound of a band that would rather not be labeled by any specific title other than SugarHouse
3 songwriting fools that Rock!
The songs range from smooth to grinding blues & rock, to soulful, eclectic ballads & lively dance. Jackson & Youngblood, whose styles have been compared to Eric Clapton, Robert Cray & Stevie Ray Vaughn, exchange and combine vocals on a variety of original and cover tunes, giving crowds the rare treat of two lead singers & songwriters in one band.
The guitar work & songwriting by Ricky Jackson takes you from tasty blues to swampy funk, on to blistering rock and back, while weaving together powerful raspy vocals, cool riffs, funky rhythms, & roaring solos, with sweat dripping and people loving it.
When Dav Youngblood writes songs, plays bass & sings, people are in awe of his intensity & creativity. His mesmerizing vocals, awesome bass playing, and ability to move an audience, define him as one of the best songwriter-musicians, you will ever see perform.
Along with his songwriting contributions and considerable talent for engineering & production, drummer
Craig LaCour rounds out this band with a natural ability for innovative grooves that drive SugarHouse to a "larger than 3 piece sound".
